According to Bibby's History, Fishers moved to the Main Street in 1950. What I remember from the fifties was the library above the shop. The library today is in what was then the primary school dining hall.

Fifteen years later and Bentham Sports occupies this prime spot in the Main Street. There is an original 1779 date stone over the archway to the right, but today's imposing building was the result of rebuilding by a Thomas Wilcock in 1899.

Four years later and the shop front is occupied by Bentham Imaging.
