Barrie - In 1998 he discovered the grave of Richard Steed who was brutally murdered in nearby fields. It led to the public execution of Alfred Eldridge. Barrie has re-published in booklet form the full story drawn from the coverage in the "Kentish Gazette" at the time. Clearing of the undergrowth from the graveyard has also revealed the grave of the Rev.C.B.Naylor who has the dubious distinction of sanctioning the demolition of Reculver Church.
