One of the remarkable features of the church graveyard are the fifteen 'Skull and Cross-bone' headstones. They mostly date to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. People were more ready to face their mortality in those days.
By contrast the same graveyard has some elaborate Victorian grave monuments. Death was ever present, but theirs was a more sentimental age.
This one dedicated to the Reeve family has a fine carved angel figure.
